Leonardia said yesterday that this (endorsement) is a game changer that will catapult them to victory. The Grupo Progreso is going for 15-0, not just because they want to win but because it will be good for Bacolod. They want to duplicate the progress in Iloilo as a result of a 15-0 win, he said. Even Senator Franklin Drilon said that there will be progress if there is unity between the mayor and the solon, he added. Leonardia said they want to restore the glory that Bacolod had before, that is why they are asking for 15-0. This is the formula to restore progress in Bacolod, he said. It is only Grupo Porgreso that has a platform of government signed by all their members so they can be held accountable, he added. KPML spokesperson Alan Alayon said they are supporting Grupo Progreso since it has the same program for the urban poor as their organization. Jun Año, Sanlakas-Negros national coordinator, said they support Leonardia because he bought the 60-hectare Arao property which has greatly helped the urban poor and informal settlers who are facing demolition. They will push for the development of the area when Leonardia returns to City Hall, he said. Año said they also support Familiaran because he authored City Ordinance 593 or the Comprehensive Housing Ordinance of Bacolod with the help of their group in 2005.That why KPML and Sanlakas support his bid for vice mayor. He said they are also against the privatization of the Manokan Country which the presentadministration is trying to push. Año said KPML and Sanlakas will defend Manokan Country so it will not be sold to big private capitalists. They only want the facility developed by the city.
