Meanwhile, James Toga, Bacolod Chess Team manager, yesterday lauded the good finish by his team. He stressed that although the Bacolod-based team hadn’t totally dominated the tournament, the chessers proved what they are capable of. “These are all because of the continuing support from Mayor Monico Puentevella, and our benefactors, namely: 2Go, councilors Kalaw Puentevella, Jun Gamboa, Jocelle Batapa-Sigue and El Cid Familiaran,” Toga said. “Likewise, my gratitude to the people of Bacolod City Sports Office headed by [Sir] Art and Joey Puentevella for their trust and confidence in us in leading this sports. Rest assured that we will continue to work harder, not only to deliver the expected results from us, but also to help our young athletes achieve their dreams,” he added./WDJ By Jerome S.
