Astoreownedby a city councilor was robbed by four suspects, including two minors, who carted away P600,000 worth of merchandise at Corner Gatuslao-San Sebastian Streets, Barangay 15, Bacolod City, February 24.
Police identified the suspects as 18-year old John Francis Lingco of Barangay 35 and Rogie Flores, 18, of Barangay 16, while the names of their two minor companions – a12-year old and 16-year old – arebeing withheld by Watchmen Daily Journal. Bacolod Councilor El Cid Familiaran, owner of Portia Store, said the suspects gained entry by destroying the glass windows of the store on the second floor. He said the suspects made a human ladder and let the 12-year old boy enter the stockroom through the window. The suspects carted away 40 sacks of slippers, with 150 pairs per sack, worth P500,000 and other items. He lamented that the suspects gained entry to the building because the guard was always sleeping. In a follow-up operation, the police were able to apprehend the four suspects at their residence.
