Outgoing Bacolod Rep. Anthony Golez Jr. had the highest expenses incurred for the May 13 elections, the Statement of Election Contributions and Expenditures (SECE) he submitted to the Commission on Election Bacolod Field Office shows.
Out of the 22 local candidates who filed their SECE at the Comelec as of yesterday, Golez stated that he spent P1,250,000 for the campaign, followed by Congressman-elect and Mayor Evelio Leonardia with P690,270.97, and Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson with P647,673.27. Ray Carmona declared that he spent P250,000, followed by re-elected Councilor Roberto Rojas Sr. – P234,915.81; Juan Ramon Jalandoni – P199,445.31; Councilor Elmer Sy- P188,000; re-elected Councilor Sonya Verdeflor – P185,058.20; Vice Mayor-elect Greg Gasataya – P167,092.43; Councilor Mona Dia Jardin – P165,190.06; Prospero Leonardia – P159,944.64; Julius Tamayo – P100,000; Councilor-elect Alex Paglumotan – P88,927.09; re-elected Councilor El Cid Familiaran – P82,676; Hermilo Lizares – P71,800; Marlon Solidum – P60,000; Ricardo Danoy – P22,238.05; Johram Alama – P20,000; Joefelo Cordova – P15,000; Ely Sergio Palma – P11,967; Lyndon Caña – P6,150; and Genly Carreon – P1,500. Acting Bacolod Election Officer Salud Milagros Villanueva yesterday said the deadline for filing of SOCE will be on June 13 and the Comelec will not give any extension. Villanueva said since their job is only ministerial, they will endorse to the Comelec Campaign Finance Unit (CFU) in Manila the SOCE's of candidates who fail to submit them on time.
