The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod yesterday approved a resolution expressing appreciation and support for the Negros Occidental provincial government’s development plan for its 7.7-hectare prime properties in Bacolod, which it said will ultimately boost the city’s business, economic, tourism, technological and historical landscape.
The Negros Occidental provincial government has negotiated for the sale and lease of its 7.7 hectares for the development of an integrated mixed-use civic and commercial district that will combine the center of government with commercial and residential uses, while at the same time respecting the site’s heritage and history as the seat of power of the provincial government, the resolution authored by Councilor Sonya Verdeflor said. Such development plan is historic for the province, especially for its capital, Bacolod City, the resolution said. The SP yesterday also approved a resolution requesting the Office of the Building Official, through the Office of the Mayor, to effect the numbering of residential houses in Bacolod City as mandated by City Ordinance 336, series of 2993. Authored by Councilor El Cid Familiaran, the resolution said it has been observed that a number of residential houses in subdivisions of various categories and villages in the different barangays are not numbered, as required by C.O. 336, series of 2003.*CGS CHRYSEE SAMILLANO Visayan Daily Star
