BACOLOD City – The number one councilor in this city is open to running for vice-mayor if Mayor Monico Puentevella asked him to.
Councilor El Cid Familiaran said he will seriously consider running for vice-mayor next elections if the mayor will support him. “If he will ask me to run for vice-mayor then I will try my luck,” he said. Political alignments are starting to take shape in this city with persistent reports that Bacolod City Rep. Evelio Leonardia will wrest the control of the city government from Puentevella. Familiaran said that aside from him, also eyed for the VM seat is Councilor Archie Baribar. We are being considered even for the congressional slot, he quipped. Reported to be gunning for the congressional seat is former vice-mayor Thaddeus Sayson who lost to Puentevella last 2013 elections. Sayson together with Councilor Alex Paglomutan, both were Leonardia’s allies last elections are reportedly supporting Puentevella now. Incumbent Vice-Mayor Greg Gasataya will reportedly run for congressman under Leonardia’s team.
